The Institute, former First Head Corp. of Disciplinary Training of Eastern Taiwan Garrison Command, was established under the command of Executive Yuan on July 1, 1992. Ministry of Justice took over the Institute and renamed as Dongcheng Training Institute. The construction of the Institute was started on February 1, 1993, completed on October 11, 1995, and have been opened since then.
